Kodama

Hey there, neighbor!

If you are reading this, you might be wondering about this weird setup in my yard.  This is an interactive Halloween projection!  It uses an infrared motion tracking camera to perform pose detection so that you can interact with the ghost projected on the plastic screen above.

It does not record or share video!

But it does let you interact with the kodama ghost!  Hopefully 😇

It's usually only going to be on in the evenings after dusk.  If the kodama is following you back and forth, you can try waving your arms, jumping, etc.

It's still in beta testing so it may not work perfectly.  But feedback is always appreciated - hit me up at bdferris at Gmail if you have questions. 

Cheat Sheet for Parents

• Motion tracking works best when there is only one person in the frame.
• If the kodama isn't following you back and forth, trying waving.
• Recognized gestures:
• Wave
• T-Arms
• Y-Arms
• Jump
• Head tilt
